Summary
Five years, three months, and eleven days. That was how long Corinne had not felt her legs. A drunk nineteen-year-old with a trust fund took her parents and her ability to walk in the same intersection, and the years since have taught her exactly how little Sector 666 thinks a crippled girl in the slums is worth. She sleeps on a cot welded from mismatched steel pipes, counts every coin twice, and has learned to be invisible — because in a death-world, the people who get noticed are the people who get taken.
Origin Witch is a dark progression fantasy about what happens when the person everyone has written off gets her hands on a system nobody in the sector understands. There is no prophecy here, no hidden bloodline, and no patron waiting to hand her a destiny. There is a hostile death-world, a brewing bench, an owl chick that steals pot rims, and a girl who is very, very good at being underestimated.
What begins as survival becomes an ascent measured in recipes rather than levels. Mana soup simmered in a clay pot while the slum outside goes hungry. A health-potion rush that turns a corner of Sector 666 into a queue. A sabotage run against the gunsmith who has been pricing her out of the market. Twelve obsidian blocks hauled up two floors to raise a ward line. Four bosses with one plan, an Ether Tide that changes what the air will hold, and invaders crossing over from 665.
Underneath all of it sits one vial. Nerve-Restoration Fluid, Grade-C: twelve hours of distillation, every scrap of spinal marrow she can buy or butcher, three drops of Anseic spring fluid, and no second tries. Everything Corinne builds — the Spire, the ward, the title of Sovereign — she builds because the alternative is staying the girl on the cot.
For readers who like dark progression fantasy with real cost, crafting systems that actually matter, protagonists who win by out-working everyone in the room, and a slow earned ascent in a world that keeps trying to eat its own.

Read full chapter →Five years, three months, and eleven days. That was how long Corinne had not felt her legs. Grease glued her bangs to her forehead in a stiff, jagged clump. Outside the unlatched window frame, the night air smelled of stagnant cabbage water, wet rust, and the metallic tang of exhaust drifting from the boulevard four blocks north. She couldn't feel her legs. She hadn't felt them in five years, three months, and eleven days. But the damp chill of the slum floorboards climbed up her spine all the same, settling into her marrow like powdered ice. She lay flat on a cot welded from mismatched galvanized steel pipes. Through a thumb-sized gap in the rotten wallboards, her eyes stayed fixed on one point in the dark sky: a crimson obstruction beacon blinking rhythmically atop a sixty-story glass tower on the wealthy side of the canal. Five years earlier, a drunk nineteen-year-old with a trust fund and a three-ton German SUV had crossed the yellow median at eighty miles an hour. Her parents died before the seatbelts could snap their collarbones. Corinne woke in intensive care with her L3 vertebra crushed into white gravel. The heir walked out of the courtroom…
