About Us
Astral Novels is a small, independent web-novel library. We publish original fiction — fantasy, progression fantasy, frontier survival, science fiction, historical fiction, romance and adventure — in serialised chapters that you can read for free, on any device.
What you’ll find here
- Complete serials. All 22 novels currently in the library are finished. You can start one today and read it through to the final chapter without waiting for the next update.
- Long-form reading. Chapters range from a few hundred to several thousand words, and most novels run to dozens of chapters, so there is always something substantial to get into.
- No paywall, no account. Reading is free and open. You never need to register, subscribe or install anything to finish a story.
- Genre browsing. Fantasy, progression fantasy and frontier survival are our largest categories, with historical fiction, science fiction, mystery, romance and adventure alongside them.
A few numbers
- 22 novels in the library
- 1022 published chapters
- ~1.8 million words of fiction
- 0 chapters behind a paywall
How the site works
Every book has a detail page with its synopsis, its full chapter list and a first-chapter preview, so you can tell within a minute whether a story is for you. Chapters are indexed by number and title, which means you can jump straight back to where you left off. Story pages also show the genre, the chapter count and the author, and each author name links to that writer’s other work.
Reading works on desktop, tablet and phone — the layout adapts to the screen, and text size follows your browser settings. There is no app to install.
How the site is funded
Astral Novels is run as an independent project. Reading is free today and will stay free. We may add a small number of clearly-marked advertisements in the future to help cover hosting and translation costs; advertising will never gate access to a chapter, and no story will move behind a subscription.
Our promise on content
We only publish fiction we have the right to publish. If you believe a work on Astral Novels infringes your copyright, please see our DMCA / copyright page — it lists exactly what we need in order to act, and we take valid notices seriously. If you spot a factual error, a broken chapter or a wrong title, tell us and we will correct it.
