DMCA Policy

How to report copyright infringement.

Astral Novels respects the intellectual property of others. We respond to notices that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, and we act on valid notices promptly.

Before you file a notice

Please make sure you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on their behalf. Filing a false notice has legal consequences: under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and attorney’s fees.

If you are unsure whether the use is infringing — for example, if you are considering fair use, quotation, or a licence you may have granted — please check before filing. If your concern turns out to be something other than copyright (a factual error, a missing credit, a privacy issue), contact us instead and we will usually resolve it faster.

What your notice must include

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If a single notice covers multiple works, you may provide a representative list.
  3. Identification of the material you want removed — for us that means the exact URL of the story or chapter page. Page titles alone are not enough.
  4. Your contact details: name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.

A notice missing any of these items cannot be processed, and we will have to ask you to send it again — which delays everything.

Where to send it

Email your notice to dmca@astralnovels.com with “DMCA Notice” in the subject line. This is our designated address for copyright complaints. You may also copy legal@astralnovels.com.

What happens next

We review valid notices promptly and remove or disable access to the material concerned. We keep a record of the notice and the action taken. Where appropriate, we notify the person who submitted the content so that they have the opportunity to file a counter-notice. Where a work is removed, we may also remove links to it from the library listing and sitemap.

Counter-notice

If you believe material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to dmca@astralnovels.com. It must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and the URL where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts in your region and will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.

After we receive a valid counter-notice we will forward it to the original complainant. Reinstatement is handled in line with the timelines and conditions set out in § 512(g).

Repeat infringement

We do not host third-party uploads, so repeat infringement is rare here. Where it does occur, we may disable the account or submission channel responsible, in line with our Terms of Service.

Outside the United States

Astral Novels is read worldwide and we honour equivalent notices from other jurisdictions, including EU member states under the Digital Services Act and the national implementations of the E-Commerce Directive. If the DMCA format does not fit your jurisdiction, send the information your local law requires to the same address — we will treat it with the same priority.

Our own rights

The novels in this library are our own original work, published under pen names. Unauthorised copying, mirroring or redistribution of our stories infringes our copyright, and we pursue those reports as well. To request permission to quote, translate or republish, write to partner@astralnovels.com.
